Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information that may be handled during a visit, why it is used, and the limited settings in which another service may receive it. By using the site, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered into a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not keep a separate site log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email or contact submission may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Standard technical details can be recorded when a page loads:

  • Page-view dates, times, and duration
  • Device type and operating system
  • The referring site, when one is supplied
  • Browser name and version
  • Pages viewed during the visit
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help measure general use, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics services combine that traffic into reports. You can block cookies in the browser, although doing so may change how some features behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a search request to the selected provider
  • Diagnose faults and improve page performance
  • Measure which material is useful to visitors
  • Operate and maintain the site
  • Display advertising that may reflect broad interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Adams County Criminal History does not host, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general access information for the Adams County Sheriff, County and District Courts, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules apply to information submitted through those tools. Review the provider's policy before running a query because those practices are outside our control.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Adams County offices, Nebraska agencies, court systems, legal resources, or outside search providers. Once you leave, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read its terms before sharing personal information.

Some advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not control that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:

  • Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
  • Search providers that process a submitted query
  • Advertising networks serving placements on the site
  • Government bodies or law enforcement acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, so absolute protection or prevention of every breach cannot be promised.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is identified, a deletion request may be made.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may provide additional rights. Nebraska's Public Records Law, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09, governs access to government records, while §29-3523 limits public dissemination of certain criminal-history entries. Those statutes do not turn this private site into a government record custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Request deletion of data associated with you
  • Ask for access to information held about you
  • Seek correction of inaccurate information
  • Object to certain processing where the law permits

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised as site practices change. A revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
